A real estate licensee is designated as a REALTOR® when he or she becomes a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR), The Voice for Real Estate®, which is the world’s largest professional association.

The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional as a member of NAR who subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. Not all real estate licensees are Realtors®.

How do I join NCAR?

To join NCAR after obtaining your real estate license, please complete the NCAR Realtor® Application.  Once the form has been completed, you may mail or email your application to We must receive your application by the Thursday prior to the date of orientation. Your license must be active to turn in your application.
